About Fano & Jo

Johanna and Nathanael Showalter are a team of photographers working together in the Maryland/DC area. Johanna took up photography in her childhood, and has been practicing for fifteen years.

Nathanael became seriously immersed in photography as the chief of operations for an aerial imaging firm, and has been doing ground and aerial photography since 2015.

In 2018, Nathanael and Johanna (or Fano and Jo, as we are known among our friends), decided to start the Fano & Jo Photography brand. We are a reliable source of quality, valuable photography services among our friends, families, and communities.

We do what we love: Nature, portrait, and pet photography for sure; but also stage, architectural, and aerial photography, and video in a number of these categories. Because we do what we love, we do our best.

We work with minimal equipment and natural or ambient light, and edit with professional editing software. Nathanael is an FAA-certificated Remote Pilot with a small unmanned systems rating, allowing him to use drones for aerial photography.
